    Founding and Mission
    Biruni University was established in 2014 in Istanbul by the World Education Foundation with the aim of providing impactful and advanced education to society. The university was built upon a strong foundation in health sciences, seeking to contribute to the global academic community through research and theoretical excellence.

    To achieve this goal, the university has held numerous meetings with thought leaders, innovators, and scientists across Turkey.

    Why the Name “Biruni”?
    The university is named after the renowned scholar Abu Rayhan Al-Biruni, one of the greatest scientific minds of the Islamic Golden Age. His forward-thinking approach and contributions to various fields of science inspired the university’s vision. His legacy was honored internationally—an asteroid was named after him in 2009, and in 1974, UNESCO recognized him as a “universal genius.” Biruni University aspires to follow in his footsteps by shaping a generation that knows its history and builds its future with confidence.

    Location

    Biruni University is located on the European side of Istanbul, specifically in the Zeytinburnu district. It is centrally situated, close to Marmaray Kazlıçeşme Station, Cevizlibağ Metrobus Station, and the Eurasia Tunnel.
